Air source heat pump installation, Bristol
This NIBE air to water heat pump was successfully installed by Altereco’s renewable energy engineers onto the side of a detached house near Bristol. These two 100 litre buffer tanks were attached to the side of the house and housed in an insulated box. The homeowner wanted a system that would cater for all of her hot water needs, especially a nice hot bath!
We kept the existing oil boiler in place for back-up, so the heat pump is running in what is known as a bivalent system so the oil boiler will kick in in really cold weather if the heat pump falls below a certain efficiency. Luckily, the homeowner already had underfloor heating in an extention of the house which is running perfectly with the heat pump.
