“Our experience with Altereco was EXCELLENT and the staff were a DELIGHT”

We were very happy that Angus and Fiona Macaskill chose us to install a Sanyo solar array on their eco friendly student home. With so many landlords unwilling to help their tenants to reduce their carbon footprint and their bills we think it’s absolutely wonderful to know that there are people out there like Angus and Fiona. Angus was very happy with our service as his testimonial below shows:

“Reg Illingworth of Altereco was a main speaker at the 2011 Bristol Landlords Expo (held at the UWE Conference centre in Frenchay during June). He led the seminar on Solar PV possibilities for landlords. As owner/managers of about 40 properties the the area we, Angus & Fiona Macaskill, were impressed and invited Altereco to tender for about 20 retro-fit roofs (along with 4 other specialist PV contractors who we judged to be leading companies in the SW).

We are reasonably ‘expert clients’ as we have had 12 months experience of generation from a roof we had fitted in 2010; also we can compare service levels. Further, Fiona Macaskill was the national ‘Green Property Woman of the Year’ for 2010, so getting our solar-PV systems right is key to our own development objectives.

We were impressed by the initial survey and the thoroughness of detailed calculations on the irradiation and shading issues on the property we chose as a prototype installation (subsequently completed in three days on 24/9/2011). Alternative approaches were presented and professionally discussed. Pricing was very competitive. By the time we committed, we had already met about six members of the Altereco team all of whom were polite, knowledgeable and efficient. We also took notice of Reg’s background of successfully running the Bristol Dyno-Rod franchise for a number of years -and felt this was good background for a supplier who would essentially be our solar partner.

Installation and paperwork were both started and completed on the agreed dates without complication, as were MCS / DNO registration processes.

Our experience with Altereco was EXCELLENT and the staff a DELIGHT to deal with. Performance (very early days of course) is SPOT-ON with the design prediction in KWh terms for the season and latitude (itself a testimonial to their shade visualisation modelling tools and diligence).

We expect to commit over £75,000 of solar PV supply in the autumn and this is LIKELY to be spent with Altereco after the VERY GOOD experience we have had with them to date.”
